Influence of particle size of aggregates on the rheological behavior of crowded suspensions with silicone oils with different viscosities

ABSTRACT Two different sizes of aggregates glass microspheres were compared in suspension with silicone oils viscosities. The concentration the was kept constant and equal to 62 vv.%. rheological behavior suspensions evaluated by squeeze flow test, for two test speeds. For both particles size, when immersed less viscous oil, yield stress did not show a good correlation tests Meanwhile, more oil led between finer granulometry, “viscosity” increases increasing viscosity But coarser speeds, decreases as increases. These differences are closely related occurrence non-homogenous flow, which depends on relation percolation speed speeds test. Thus, size influences ways these microspheres. Consequently, combination matrix phase granulometry can lead homogeneous flow.
